Our mission is to enable equal access to knowledge by offering the most efficient way to learn professional English.

Everyone deserves access to world-class opportunities for education and professional development, but the vast majority of high-quality learning and development material is in English. Billions of people are being left behind. That’s why we’re building a platform with the largest offering of professional English courses.

Our storySlang was born from an idea developed by two MIT students. While Diego, Slang’s co‑founder and CEO, was completing his MBA, he realized that he and his friends lacked the appropriate vocabulary to fully grasp the business cases they were reading. As a result, their learning experience was frustrating and slow.
Diego had previously faced similar challenges with field‑specific English for the employees of his companies in Latin America. He soon came to realize that the problem was a broader one: no English‑learning solution on the market could meet the needs of professionals and businesses — needs that go beyond basic English.
While at MIT, Diego met his co‑founder and CTO, Kamran, who had just won a contest for developers run by Apple on campus. Kamran’s expertise in ML and NLP was the missing piece to make Diego’s idea a reality. Their collaboration led to the cutting-edge algorithms that form the backbone of Slang’s adaptive approach.

We envision a future where people can realize their full potential by taking advantage of the vast knowledge available online in English.
