Our story
Slang was born at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) when two master’s students—Diego and Kamran—identified the same challenge in their projects and teams: in Latin America, many professionals struggled to communicate in English in workplace, technical, and business situations. They found it hard to access and leverage global knowledge. They also had difficulty understanding and using specialized documentation.

All of this limited the development of new competencies. There was no solution that effectively taught professional English beyond general English.

In response, Kamran applied his expertise in Artificial Intelligence to create a system capable of personalizing learning by role and context. Together with Diego, they turned that vision into a highly adaptive solution focused on the real needs of companies.

After years of development and growth, Slang has become the most widely used professional English platform among companies and educational institutions in Latin America. Our team, based in the United States, Colombia, Mexico, Chile, and Brazil, delivers corporate English training programs, online classes, and specialized content to thousands of professionals across the region.

Vision

To become the industry standard for developing and certifying professional English.

Mission
